One of the greatest investments you can make to improve the feel and look of your home is a home theater. If you are like most people you probably spend a lot of time at home watching TV and movies and there is nothing better than getting the big screen feel with the comfort of your home.

Here are some hot items that you will want to make sure you have for your home theater.

Screen- Probably the most important aspect to any home theater is your screen. You can either get a Plasma, LCD, or a projector for the best watching experience. Each type of screen has its own benefits. LCD’s are great for smaller locations and offer clear picture, plasma screens are generally for bigger sized rooms and offer a great picture also. If you want to go extreme get an HD projector and get a giant screen. Just make sure you get 1080 P. Make sure you get HD channels from your cable or satellite provider. If you don’t have one or are looking for great deals check out deals for Dish TV  to make sure you are getting the best experience possible.

Blu-Ray Player- If you love the crystal clear display of the movies at the big screen you will want a Blu-Ray player. Blu-Ray players have come down in cost and are well worth the investment. You may worry that you have lots of old DVD’s which is understandable. Blu Ray players actually make DVD’s look better with up convert technology to make them near Blu-Ray quality. You can also start replacing your old DVD’s with new Blu-Rays when you see a good deal.

Surround Sound-This is one of the last big components you need to complete your home theater. Surround sound can be fairly cheap to super expensive. Make sure you at least get 5.1 surround sound but you could 7.1 or even get 10.2. Ask your local store expert to help you decide what will fit best in your room and how many watts you will want. It is important to have a receiver that will be able to send the correct signals to your speakers.

With the big 3 components you will be able to have a great home theater experience. What else do you need? Well depending on the size of your room you could have special stadium seating or custom made couches for your theater room. Plus who knows maybe you will even want a bar in the back where you can pop popcorn, have drinks, and food available. You may never get up again!
